I finally was able to watch your videos on making biochar. I had some technical difficulties for some time. Your videos break it down nicely and I'm hoping our Lord allows me time and energy to make them before spring gets here. I'm lacking sunflower seeds, but that's not an insurmountable problem. Great videos and you give a thorough explanation on how we can do it. BTW, I don't think 'roasting your iphone is covered under the warranty.' Thank you very much, Craig!

As I was pondering the conumdrum of using the whole sunflower plant, I can't help but wonder how you successfully harvest the whole sunflower plant. Do you do it in stages? Head and seeds first followed by the stalk when it dries down? Craig, what is your prodicol for harvesting the whole plant? Thank you very much for guiding me on my gardening journey. May God Bless you and yours everyday.

I just wait till they end of the season and take the whole plant from the garden and put it through my mulcher / shredder, it doesn’t have to have the seeds. The stalk is all that is really needed to get the high potassium content. It is best to biochar dry materials, so I would put the plant in my greenhouse to dry down before shredding it.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate it. One more thing I'll be planting in my beds this year.
